[The Biologist goes from total absorption in the task of flipping through books to find a solution to focus on the abrupt new sound in an eyeblink. Someone's in here, but not where she can see. She focuses in on it, sees something very small thrashing about in the water. It could be bait, some kind of trap, but she just can't help herself.
She jumps down from the table she'd climbed onto and drops to her knees to scoop the small animal up. She stares, fascinated.
