But maybe he's just still doubtful. Would Ouma actually abandon everyone else? If the brooms were stopped on either side of the door it would presumably stop the room from flooding, so maybe this is just walking that tightrope between selfishness and basic decency. But it still sits badly with Shuichi. He can't help thinking that something awful could happen. Someone could drown with just slightly too few people on hand to help everyone. The brooms could become violent or something.
